China at its most international
Shanghai is where China meets the world, and it has been doing so since the 1840s. The Bund's colonial banking houses face the sci-fi skyline of Pudong across 500 metres of the Huangpu River — the most photographed contrast in the country.
Behind the riverfront is a city of French Concession plane trees, art deco apartment blocks, 1930s department stores and the best restaurants in China. And within an hour by high-speed rail are the canal towns and classical gardens of Suzhou and the lakeside tea city of Hangzhou.
Three days covers Shanghai. Six days makes it the base for the Yangtze delta: Suzhou, Hangzhou, Zhouzhuang and the water towns.

Shanghai is large enough that halal food is straightforward: several qingzhen restaurants operate in the city centre, and there are halal options near the major mosques, including the Songjiang and Xiaotaoyuan mosques. Most international hotels in Shanghai will prepare a halal breakfast on request, and we confirm every restaurant on your route in advance. For Southeast Asian palates that miss home, the city also has verifiable halal Southeast Asian restaurants, which we will happily build into your itinerary.
Each of these is a starting point. We reshape every one around your dates, your group and your pace.

Tell us your dates and who is travelling, and we will send a day-by-day Shanghai itinerary with halal dining marked, hotel options and an itemised quotation within 24 hours.
